Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary 2026

March 19, 2026

At this year’s Palm Beach Modern + Contemporary, Modern Masters Tapestries is proud to present a curated selection of exceptional 20th-century tapestries, highlighted by Automne by Sonia Delaunay. A pioneering force in modern abstraction, Delaunay developed a distinctive visual language built on rhythm, color, and movement. In Automne, her exploration of simultaneous color unfolds through bold circular forms and sweeping arcs, creating a composition that is both vibrant and deeply harmonious.

In tapestry form, Delaunay’s composition takes on a remarkable new dimension. The interplay of colored threads introduces subtle shifts in tone and texture, giving the work a luminous depth that cannot be achieved in other media. Woven in Aubusson in a limited edition, Automne represents the exceptional collaboration between modern artists and master weavers that defined the great tapestry revival of the 20th century.

Alongside this important work, our presentation will feature significant tapestries by Victor Vasarely, Alexander Calder, and Man Ray, bringing together some of the most influential artistic voices of the modern era within the medium of tapestry. These works demonstrate how leading painters and designers embraced textile as a powerful extension of their artistic practice.

We invite you to visit us at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, March 19–22, to experience these rare works in person and discover the enduring presence and craftsmanship of modern tapestry.
